Student Code of Conduct

At St. Teresa's Convent School, Raigarh, discipline, respect, responsibility, and integrity form the foundation of student life. Every student is expected to uphold the values and traditions of the school and contribute positively to a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment.

The following code of conduct serves as a guide to help students develop into responsible, confident, and compassionate individuals.


Attendance & Academic Responsibility

???? Regular Attendance

  • Regular attendance is essential for academic success and personal growth.

  • Every student is expected to attend school punctually and consistently throughout the academic year.

??? Minimum Attendance Requirements

??? 75% attendance is compulsory to be eligible for Board Examinations.

Students with inadequate attendance may not be considered for promotion or examination eligibility unless approved by the school authorities under exceptional circumstances.


Uniform & Personal Appearance

???? School Uniform

  • Students must report to school in the prescribed uniform on designated days.

  • Uniforms should always be neat, clean, properly ironed, and worn with pride.

???? Personal Grooming

Students are expected to maintain:

??? Personal hygiene and cleanliness.

??? Well-groomed hair as per school guidelines.

??? Clean shoes and socks.

??? A neat and presentable appearance at all times.

A student's appearance reflects both personal discipline and respect for the institution.


Language & Communication

???? English Speaking Environment

  • Students are encouraged to communicate in English within the school campus.

  • Speaking English regularly helps develop confidence, communication skills, and academic proficiency.


Classroom Behaviour

Students should actively contribute to a positive learning atmosphere by:

??? Maintaining silence during instructional hours.

??? Listening attentively to teachers.

??? Participating respectfully in classroom discussions.

??? Completing assignments and homework sincerely and on time.

School Discipline & Responsibility

???? Respect for School Property

Students must:

??? Handle school furniture, books, laboratory equipment, computers, and other resources responsibly.

??? Avoid damaging school property.

??? Report any accidental damage immediately to the concerned authority.

???? Environmental Responsibility

Students are encouraged to:

??? Keep classrooms and school premises clean.

??? Use dustbins appropriately.

??? Conserve electricity by switching off lights and fans when leaving a room.

??? Promote eco-friendly practices.

???? Orderly Movement

While moving around the campus, students should:

??? Walk in an orderly manner.

??? Maintain proper lines where required.

??? Observe silence and discipline in corridors and common areas.


Respect & Courtesy

???? Respect for Others

Every student is expected to:

??? Show respect to the Principal, teachers, staff members, visitors, and fellow students.

??? Greet teachers and elders courteously.

??? Demonstrate kindness, empathy, and consideration towards others.

??? Foster a culture of mutual respect and cooperation.


Personal Responsibility

Students should:

??? Take responsibility for their belongings.

??? Avoid bringing unnecessary valuables to school.

??? Exercise honesty and accountability in all actions.

??? Uphold the reputation and values of the school both inside and outside the campus.


Disciplinary Action

The following behaviours are considered serious violations of school discipline:

??? Irregular attendance

??? Habitual negligence of studies or homework

??? Disrespect towards school authorities

??? Dishonesty or cheating

??? Disobedience of school rules

??? Bullying, misconduct, or inappropriate behaviour

??? Any conduct that adversely affects the moral atmosphere and reputation of the school

Such actions may result in disciplinary measures, including suspension or dismissal, at the discretion of the school management.


Prohibited Items

To ensure discipline, safety, and a focused learning environment, students are strictly prohibited from bringing or using the following items within the school premises:

  • Wallets and money bags (unless specifically required)

  • Fancy watches

  • Jewellery and fashion accessories

??? Electronic Gadgets

  • Mobile Phones

  • iPods

  • PSPs and gaming devices

  • Pen Drives

  • Personal CDs/DVDs

  • Any unauthorized electronic gadgets

??? Inappropriate Appearance & Accessories

  • Hair gel or hair colouring products

  • Tattoos (temporary or permanent display)

  • Long nails or nail polish

  • Fancy footwear

  • Decorative hair clips and accessories

  • Danglers and other jewellery

??? Improper Dress

  • Tight-fitted clothing

  • Low-waist trousers

  • Sleeveless or revealing attire

??? Food & Restricted Substances

  • Chewing gum

  • Chocolates

  • Chips and junk food

  • Pan Masala

  • Tobacco products

  • Supari and similar substances

Possession of any prohibited item may result in confiscation and disciplinary action.
